Flu & pneumonia shots offered at JCC clinic
Jackson Community College will provide flu and pneumonia vaccinations during a one-day clinic on campus on Friday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Justin Whiting Hall, Room 204, the nursing lab. This event is open to the community.
Residents across Jackson and the nation saw a serious flu outbreak last year, with more deaths due to influenza than usual. Children and youth age 12-18 need parental permission. Those with special health concerns may want to consult their physician before getting a shot.
Cost for the flu vaccine will be $23 per person, and the pneumonia vaccine will be $37 per person. Billing can be made to Medicare, Medicaid, Physicians Health Plan and Jackson Health Plan (for those with flu rider). For more information, contact Chris Davis, JCC professor of nursing, at 796-8492.
