JCC to host auditions for Agatha Christie's classic whodunnit, 'The Mousetrap'
Jackson Community College will host auditions for Agatha Christie's classic thriller "The Mousetrap" from 6-8 p.m. on Jan. 11-12 in Michael Baughman Theatre, Potter Center.
"The Mousetrap" will be directed by Ann Holt, who has directed numerous local and JCC theatre productions. Holt studied theatre at Carnegie Mellon University and has completed the acting/directing/playwright class at Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea. The cast of "Mousetrap" calls for five males and three females. Auditions are open to students and community members. Production dates will be Feb. 17-19 and 24-26. For further information, contact Sandy DiCesare at (517) 796-8625.
Aspiring actors may be interested to note that "The Mousetrap" has kept audiences guessing for five decades, running continuously in London since its premiere in November, 1952, where it is now regarded as history's longest-running play. "The Mousetrap" tells the story of a group of strangers stranded in a boarding house during a snow storm, one of whom is a murderer. It is filled with intrigue as the mysterious killings are unraveled.
