Shakespeare class to get behind-the-scenes experience with festival

To be or not to be, that is the question...

Jackson Community College students enrolled in the English 252 Shakespeare course will learn about The Bard's works not only from textbooks but also behind-the-scenes experience with The Michigan Shakespeare Festival this summer.

Students will get the chance to sit in on rehearsals of the Michigan Shakespeare Festival's productions, visit backstage and speak with the director and actors, and see the set construction. This year's Shakespeare Festival productions are "Hamlet" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

Shakespeare lovers - this could be your chance to study these works and get an up-close look at the production. This three credit hour class will run from June 28 to Aug. 7, meeting on campus on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. till 1:55 p.m. To register, contact JCC's Student Services office at (517) 796-8425. For more information, contact Professor Geri Jacobs at (517) 796-8587, or Ellen Young at (517) 796-8582.
