Front Porch Concert series to begin

Enjoy a little night music in the open air as Jackson Community Concert Band kicks off the 2006 Front Porch Concert Series on June 18!

The Front Porch Series is designed to welcome community members to campus to enjoy great music in a comfortable, outdoor setting. These concerts are fun, free, accessible and guaranteed – activities will move indoors in case of inclement weather. Here is the schedule of this year’s events:

  • June 18 – Trombone Festival
  • June 22 – Jazz Night
  • June 27 – Pre-Fourth of July Concert
  • June 29 – Band Camp Finale

All concerts begin at 7 p.m. These are free, and the public is welcome. Persons wishing to pre-arrange seating may call ahead at (517) 796-8559; otherwise, audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Barbecue dinner will be available for concert-goers for $6 beginning about a half hour before the performance and running through the show.
