JCC hires former Addison High basketball coach for Jets team

Jackson Community College is pleased to announce the hire of Andy Hoaglin, previously coach for Addison High School girls’ basketball, as the new Jets women’s basketball head coach.

Hoaglin is a Jackson-area native who played basketball, football and baseball for Columbia Central High School. He then went on to play basketball at the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Ind. for four years, and was also an associate head coach for St. Francis. He looks forward to the opportunities and challenges of his new position.

“This is an opportunity to build something from scratch, and you don’t often find jobs coming open where you can do that,” Hoaglin said. “Plus it’s the local draw, having college athletics back in Jackson is a big deal.”

Since girls’ high school basketball season ended in the fall, Hoaglin plans to get to work right away on recruiting to attract local talent. “It’s a good situation because with the girls’ programs, there is a lot of talent out there locally. I think we will be able to build a successful team right away.”

Hoaglin works as a human resources consultant at Consumers Energy in downtown Jackson. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Francis, and a master’s in business administration from Baker College. He currently resides in Summit Township with his wife, Kimberly, a JCC alumna, and their daughter, Claire.
