May 22nd, 2007 For immediate release Go the distance with 37th Annual Rose Run on June 9Get set for the Physician’s Health Plan 37th Annual Rose Run, planned for Saturday, June 9, 2007, with events starting at Jackson Community College’s main campus and Ella Sharp Park. The Rose Run is the oldest race in Jackson County and is coordinated by Mike McGlynn, professor of nursing at JCC. Sponsored by Physicians Health Plan of Southern Michigan and organized by JCC, the Rose Run is designed to promote fitness and provide something challenging for the community. Additional sponsors include Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists, P.C., Optimal Performance Specialists, L.L.C., and Jackson Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. Races include 10K and 5K runs, a 4-mile walk, and children’s 1/4 and 1/2 mile runs. Registration will be held at the JCC Victor Cuiss Fieldhouse on Friday, June 8, from 5:30-7 p.m., and on Saturday morning beginning at 6:30 a.m. Transportation will be provided from the College to Sharp Park for the 10K run and 4-mile walk. Custom medals will go to the top three finishers in each age group, and trophies will be given to top finishers. All pre-registered participants receive a T-shirt.
