JCC to officially open Campus View with ribbon-cutting ceremony
Jackson Community College will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Campus View living and learning community at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 27.
Campus View represents JCC’s first venture into on-campus student housing. The facility features 24 four-bedroom units designed for one person per bedroom. Units feature high-speed Internet hookup, phone and cable TV ready connection, and storage area. The facility has common lounge and study areas, laundry and vending machines, convenient parking and numerous security measures for residents’ safety. A full-time, live-in resident director has been hired, April Sue Platt, originally from Waldron in Hillsdale County. Platt has worked in residence life at other institutions for several years, including the University of Akron and Case Western Reserve University.
Construction on the units is now complete, and workers are busy cleaning and putting finishing touches on the interior. The ceremony will feature brief comments from college officials and trustees, the ribbon-cutting, tours of the facility and refreshments. The community is invited.
Spaces are still available for students interested in living in Campus View. Contact the Office of Residence Life, 517.796.8455 for more information, or visit us online at www.jccmi.edu/campusview.
