Three cross country runners qualify for nationals
Congratulations to Jackson Community College cross country runners Alexandria Blair, Brittany Boucher and Dan Styles for qualifying for the upcoming 2008 National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division 1 Cross Country Championship, to be held Nov. 8 in Spartanburg, S.C.
Coach Brian Olsen said both the men’s and women’s teams showed improvement this year, and they finished fourth at the recent NJCAA Region XII Championship held Oct. 25 at Lansing Community College. The three individual runners who will move on to the national meet all finished within the top 15 at the regional:
- Alexandria Blair finished 6th overall in the women’s 5K with a time of 19:56;
- Brittany Boucher finished 14th overall in the women’s 5K with a time of 20:29;
- Dan Styles finished 11th overall in the men’s 8K with a time of 27:01.
The national championship will be held at Spartanburg Methodist College in Spartanburg, S.C.
