Truck Driver Training Academy hosting open house May 24

Learn more about career opportunities in commercial trucking when Jackson Community College’s Truck Driver Training Academy hosts an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 pm. Saturday, May 24, at its site at 1300 Falahee Road, Jackson.

JCC offers truck driver training in cooperation with HR Career Development at the Airmaster Fan site in Michigan Center. Training prepares students to test for the Michigan class “A” commercial driver’s license (CDL) test, required for commercial heavy truck and tractor-trailer drivers. Students learn through classroom and hands-on training over just 21 days, and new classes begin weekly.     

Job opportunities for truck drivers are expected to grow about 8 percent over the coming years.  Interested visitors may learn about the training opportunities available. Free refreshments will be available.
