Jets sign players to 2008-09 teams

Jackson Community College signed several players this week for the 2008-09 women’s softball and soccer teams and one to men’s baseball.

Signing for women’s softball were:

• Lauren Adams, Grass Lake H.S., centerfield.

• Elicia Cannarile, Grass Lake H.S., catcher, received All Conference Honorable Mention sophomore and senior years.

• Ryanna Dexter, Leslie H.S., pitcher, four-year varsity starter.

• Heidi Herendeen, Grass Lake H.S., second base, received All Conference junior year.

• Kalie Lamb, Vandercook Lake H.S., outfield, received All Conference Honorable Mention sophomore year, All Conference honors two times, All District team two times, Citizen Patriot Dream Team junior year, and Academic All State honors.

• Danielle Prater, Springport H.S., second base and right field, received All Conference Special Mention and Most Dedicated Player Award two years.

Signing to the women’s soccer team were:

• Brie Augustine, Lumen Christi H.S., received All District honors in ’08.

• La’Tesha Campbell, Jackson H.S., received All Conference ’06 and ’07, All Area ’06 and ’07, All District ’06 and ’07.

• Julie Cummings, transfer from Western Michigan University, in high school received Player of the Year honors in 2007, All Conference, All District, All Region and First Team All State honors.

• Tarah Diem, Montrose H.S., All-District 2007-08, 47 career goals as a forward.

• Samantha Maskell, Lumen Christi H.S., played with Albion College one year, in high school was All District ’05, ’06 and ’07, All State ’05 and ’06.

• Chloe Peek, Northwest H.S., received All District, Most Valuable Player and All Conference Honorable Mention in ’08; All Conference Honorable Mention in ’06 and ’07.

Signing to the men’s baseball team was:

• Josh Pippin, Warren Mott H.S., infield/outfield, received All League in Macomb Area Conference White, All Region, All County, selected to the East West All Star Game at Comerica Park on June 17.
