Tutoring

Tutoring is available FREE to ALL students in a variety of formats. In addition, we offer a tutor certification program. Take advantage of this opportunity to earn while you learn. For more information stop by the Center for Student Success in Bert Walker Hall Room 125 or call us at 517.796.8415.

Accessibility & Accommodations

Library

The JCC Library is located in William Atkinson Hall. This information technology center features 11 high-tech learning laboratories, break-out rooms for small group study, an open computer lab area, high-speed wireless Internet access, and a café area. Laptop computers are available for checkout and use within Atkinson Hall or its patio area. With your student library card, you have access to numerous online databases in addition to periodicals and books. Reference librarians are available to assist you.

JCC is a member of the Jackson County Library system. Because of our partnership with the Jackson District Library, students have access to their entire collection, searchable online with the Horizon system.

Testing Lab — Atkinson 118

During certain hours and by appointment, JCC provides a routine location to complete testing in a comfortable and secure environment. The Testing Lab is available for Course Placement and for testing as arranged by instructors. Be sure to bring your state-issued photo identification. Student Activites

Get involved. The Office of Student Life provides leadership with Student Parliament, supports clubs and student organizations, hosts student events, and organizes intramural sports. Check out www.jccmi.edu/StudentServices/StudentLife.

The Office of Multicultural Relations provides students with a variety of opportunities to get involved in diverse student organizations – International Student Organization, CIP (College Incentive Program) Student Organization and the Multicultural Student Organization. These organizations provide our students with the opportunity to take a leading role in campus and community leadership. Visit www.jccmi.edu/diversity for the latest events and opportunities.

Give back. Many JCC courses include service learning as part of the curriculum. The Office of Service Learning and Civic Engagement assists you in finding ways to help your community, connects you to community resources and needs, and provides additional opportunities such as leadership training and recognition for your achievement. Lifetime Learning (LTL)

Learning does not need to be graded. JCC offers a variety of learning experiences to enrich your life. These courses are not for credits or grades, and are offered for low fees. In the LTL listings, you will find a variety of non-credit courses including, a variety of health and physical fitness courses, JCC Community Concert Band, debate, journalism and aviation.
