Tuition & Payment Information
Proof of Residency for Tution Rate
Residency is based on the student’s permanent address at the time of registration. Jackson County residents include students whose permanent address is within the boundaries of Jackson County. In-district rates are extended to students who own property in Jackson County but keep their permanent address elsewhere. It is the student’s responsibility to submit documentation prior to the first day of the semester. Students whose Jackson County employers are paying tuition and fees using JCC’s “Third Party Pay” arrangement will be charged the in-district rate for those courses. Military personnel called to active duty will receive In-District tuition rate. U.S. citizens who live in Campus View and change their driver’s license address to 2115 Emmons Road, Jackson, MI 49201 prior to semester start will also be eligible for in-district tuition rates. Documentation must be received prior to first day of the semester. Students who do not submit an official picture ID to confirm residency will be charged the Out-of-State tuition rate.
Change of Residency
If you receive approval for a residency change by the end of the ADD/DROP period for your class(es), you will receive a refund for the difference between tuition rates. You will need a valid driver’s license or state ID, and one of the following documents as proof of residency:
- Voter registration card
- Vehicle registration
- Property tax receipt
- Rental/lease agreement
JCC reserves the right to make the final decision about residency. JCC reserves the right to change students’ addresses based on returned mail through the United States Postal Service.
Tuition & Fees
Tuition and fees are subject to change by the Board of Trustees. Total costs are determined by the number of billing contact hours and course fees for which you register. The Student Fee is based on the number of billing contact hours.
Payment for course is due three days (72 hours) from the day of registration. Once the semester session has started, payment is due at time of registration.
NOTE: Student is responsible for dropping or paying for courses. Non-payment may not constitute an automatic drop from the course.
