Terrorist Alert PolicyYour safety at Jackson Community College is our top priority. Jackson Community College will not automatically close if there is a Homeland Security Advisory System Level Red Alert. A Level Red Alert means there is a severe risk of a terrorist attack. A national Code Red may not signal a Code Red in your county. If local emergency planning officials determine that there is a specific threat that impacts your county, the steps below will be taken. If an announcement regarding a specific threat that impacts your county comes before or after college hours (pre-8a.m./post-10 p.m.).
If an announcement regarding a specific threat that impacts your county comes during college hours (8 a.m.-10 p.m.):
It is requested that the college's telephone lines be kept open for emergency communication with emergency management officials. To receive the most up-to-date emergency updates, tune to local radio and television stations (the same local media as used in snow emergencies). For more information regarding this policy, contact the Director of Human Resources at (517) 796-8462 or Security at (517) 796-8683. |
