Notes:

·         This is only a guide.

·         Transfer students must attend an open advising session for students pursuing Secondary Teacher Certification.  Dates and times for upcoming sessions are available at http://www.emich.edu/coe/advising/applicant.html JCC students interested in Physical Education (318 Porter, 734-487-0090), Music Education (N101 Alexander, 734-487-1044), Business/Marketing/Technology Education (122 Sill Hall, 734-487-4330) should make advising contacts in those departments before they transfer to EMU.  Advisor contact information is available at http://www.emich.edu/coe/advising/student.html  EMU encourages all transfer students to attend this session as early as possible so that they can make the appropriate choices at their community college. This session can help save the student time, money, and effort.

·         This map will help JCC students find their way to EMU’s campus in Ypsilanti (http://www.emich.edu/halle/erictest/emumaps/overviewmap/overviewmap.htm).

·         This map will help you locate buildings on campus (http://www.emich.edu/admissions/tour/locator.html). Paid parking is available at McKenny Union on Washtenaw Avenue, in front of the parking structure on Oakwood Drive, or near the intersection of Lowell Street and East Circle Drive on the east side of campus.

·         Coursework with a grade of at least 2.0 will be transferable

·         Students do not need to complete all the courses listed below before transferring.

·         All Michigan Teacher Programs require students attain state-approved passing scores in reading, written English, and mathematics on the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification as determined by the Michigan Department of Education.  (Passing scores on these tests are mandated for all teacher education candidates seeking teacher certification.)  Consider taking this test in the second semester of your freshman year or the equivalent time if you are a part-time student.  EMU requires a minimum score of 220 (total of all three parts).
