·        This is only a guide.  Students should contact the transfer school for program advising.

·         Coursework with a grade of at least 2.0 will be transferable.

·         Students do not need to complete all the courses listed below before transferring.

The School of Art offers the

·         Bachelor of Art: Art Major

·         Bachelor of Fine Art: Art Major Ceramic Emphasis

·         Bachelor of Fine Art: Art Major Photography Emphasis

·         Bachelor of Fine Art: Graphic Design Major Emphasis

·         Bachelor of Fine Art: Art Major Printing or Watercolor Emphasis

·         Bachelor of Fine Art: Art Major Printmaking Emphasis

·         Bachelor of Fine Art: Art Major Sculpture Emphasis

·         Bachelor of Art: Art Teaching Major K-12 (Effective Fall of 2004, the Art Education major requires a portfolio review and a minimum 2.5 GPA for program admission.)

·         Art History Major

 

There are two separate applications required:

1.       Apply to WMU Admissions and Orientation

2.       Apply to the School or Art: for information go to from www.wmich.edu/art, or call Art Advising (269.387.2440), or email john.kollig@wmich.edu.  Admittance to the School of Art is competitive.  Admittance to the Bachelor of Fine Art: Graphic Design Major Emphasis is extremely competitive.

 

The School of Art application consists of:

·         Application form

·         Personal statement

·         Letter of recommendation

·         Three Drawing/Design exercises 8½ x 11 (for studio applicants)

·         Writing analysis (for history applicants) 

It is strongly recommended that student complete the MACRAO Agreement.

NOTE: While these courses may not transfer in to meet program requirements, they will transfer in as Art electives and provide a background for possible admittance to the School of Art.

 

A total of 122 credits is required for completion of the degree. A maximum of 62 credit hours required for completion of the degree at Western Michigan University may be transferred from JCC.
