Student Classification
The following student definitions are used by JCC. Other schools, agencies, government organizations and financial aid sources may use different definitions.
| FULL- TIME: | Taking 12 or more credit hours |
| PART-TIME | Taking fewer than 12 credit hours |
| OVERLOAD: | Taking 19 or more credit hours-requires approval by the Dean of Students |
| FRESHMAN: | A student who has completed 23 or fewer semester hours of credit |
| SOPHOMORE | A student who has completed 24 or more semester hours of credit |
