The Professional Trades/Industry 4.0 & Agriculture Pathway helps prepare you for these high demand jobs. This pathway includes careers in electrical technology, manufacturing, automotive service, energy systems, agriculture and aviation.
Advanced Manufacturing
Advanced manufacturing is defined as the rapid transfer of science and technology into the manufacture of products using high-level design skills. Technically skilled employees, especially those who are cross-trained for different positions, are in demand.
Agriculture Technology
Today’s farming and food production industries are diverse fields with a variety of career opportunities available. Farmers operate farms that produce crops, livestock and dairy products. Typical tasks include all steps of the crop production process, including planting, fertilizing, harvesting and herding.
Electrician
Electricians install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures in homes, businesses, industries, external structures and more. They install and maintain the wiring and control equipment through which electricity flows.
Energy Systems
The utility industry’s energy generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure is commonly called the “largest machine in the world.” Students will gain skills necessary to work competently in various sectors of the industry: energy production, energy transmission and energy distribution.
Lineworker Pre-Apprentice
As part of the EMPOWER Lineworker Pre-Apprenticeship Program, students gain the skills needed to become apprentice lineworkers.
Occupational Studies
Jackson College offers an Associate in Applied Science in Occupational Studies designed specifically for students who have completed an apprenticeship program and received a certificate of completion from the U.S. Department of Labor/Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.
