Introduction to Residence Life
Residence Life is the concept of college students living together in a building on campus. The difference between living in a building on campus and off is the intentional nature of the residence life staff to help create or foster a community environment.
Staff encourages the creation of a community within the building and among the residents through social, educational and leadership opportunities. Of course residents and guests create this community as they engage in conversations, relax, study in common rooms and share the "residential experience." As we say at Campus View... it's a place to live, laugh, learn and make life-long friends.
We currently have two apartment style residence halls on campus, each housing 96 students. The buildings have 24 apartments (we call them suites), and the suites include four fully furnished bedrooms, two baths, and fully furnished kitchens and living rooms.
What do I get in the contract or amenities that might differ from an off campus apartment? Well, in our cost we have included heat/air, water, electric, wireless Internet, cable, telephone with unlimited local and long distance calls with the continental United States, on-site laundry exterior storage closet, secured main door, suite and bedroom entry and of course staff members to assist when needed.
And if that isn't enough... we have on-site trash removal, residents have access to the campus weight room/gym at no additional cost, no need to drive as you are within walking distance of all buildings on campus. Oh and did we mention residents are able to change your address to receive the in-county tuition rate?
Finally, we do have a few ways of working with students on paying to live on campus. Students can register for the FACTS payment plan, and pay with cash/check/credit card. And if students have financial aid that is eligible to cover housing fees, this can be applied as well. All tuition and fees are paid first and any remaining financial aid money is then directly applied to the semesters housing fees.
