Graphic Design
Associate in Applied Science

Graphic Designers create art and copy layouts for books, magazines, newspapers, television, and product packages. General duties of a Graphic Designer may include conferring with a client to plan the layout design, determining the size and arrangement of the illustrative material and copy to be used, painting or drawing a sample of the finished advertisement for approval, preparing notes and instructions for workers who assemble and prepare final layout for printing, reviewing the final layout and suggesting improvements as needed, and operating computer systems to draw and print charts, graphs, illustrations and other art work.

Students should enjoy communicating ideas to people, be creative and derive satisfaction from seeing their works in print.
