PART A -  ASSOCIATE’S DEGREE OR EQUIVALENT

To enter the Jackson Community College/Franklin University program, you must meet one of the following admissions criteria:

Associate’s degree in:
check mark Computer Programming Specialist
check mark Microcomputer Applications Specialist

or  

Other AA, AS, AGS or AAS degree    

or 

Completion of 60 semester hours and a 2.5 GPA.

Software Engineering Option

Elective Bridge Courses (taken at Jackson Community College)  
Non-developmental level courses taken at your community college and not applied directly toward another Bridge requirement will be applied in this area. An official evaluation of transfer credit will determine the need for electives. If you need additional courses to meet the 131 semester hour minimum required for a Bachelor's degree, please select computer-related courses from those offered at your community college. Other courses may be acceptable in this area. Please see your community college advisor or Franklin University SSA for approval prior to taking the course.


FRANKLIN UNIVERSITY  
PART C - CAPSTONE (40 semester hours)

The following Capstone courses are available online and must be taken through Franklin's Community College Alliance program. All students must take Franklin's orientation course, PF 321 Learning Strategies, prior to other online courses at Franklin. It is recommended to take PF 321 before beginning bridge courses at your community college. Degree-seeking students must meet all the requirements for the degree(s) and major program(s) in effect at the time they declare in writing a specific degree and major and earn credit toward a degree by taking PF 321.
