To be admitted to the
Teacher Certification Program, the student’s formal application must be
approved by the Spring Arbor University School of Education. Students must
meet the standards for admission and for program requirements for the
Professional Education Sequence that are in effect at the time of the
submission of their applications. Students should obtain a copy of these
standards from the Spring Arbor University School of Education office or the
Spring Arbor University office at JCC.
One of these standards is satisfactory
performance on the Michigan Basic Skills Test. It is recommended the test
be taken in the second semester of the freshman year or the first semester
of the sophomore year. It is helpful for most people to complete a
mathematics course prior to taking the test.
