The University of Michigan is comprised of twelve colleges: College of Architecture and Urban planning; College of Engineering; College of Literature, Science, and the Arts; College of Pharmacy; Dental Hygiene Program; Kinesiology; School of Art & Design; University of Michigan Business School; School of Education; School of Music; School of Natural Resources and Environment; School of Nursing.  These colleges are discrete, that is, students apply to one of the colleges.

/Beyond the course and distribution requirements specified above, select up to 60 credit hours. Since the emphasis in the first two years is on liberal arts, not more than seven credits in non-academic or technical areas can be applied toward the 60 credit hour requirement. The Bachelor of Science degree (four years) in Architecture is not a professional degree.
