COMPETENCIES and/or SPECIFIC COURSES within The MACRAO Agreement

Many universities require that you demonstrate proficiency or show competency in certain areas.  The most common areas are mathematics (MTH) and oral communication (SPH).    Some universities have specific courses that they prefer you complete within MACRAO.  Find your transfer university and complete its suggested courses within MACRAO and required competencies.

CENTRAL MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY: Take MTH 131 (or higher mathematics course excluding MTH 210 and MTH 211), take SPH 231, and complete MACRAO taking PLS 141 (Social Science).

EASTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY: Take MTH 133, MTH 145 or MTH 151 - Elementary & special education students can take MTH 210 (3) and MTH 211 (3) to meet their math requirement.

FERRIS STATE UNIVERSITY: Take MTH 131 (or higher mathematics course excluding MTH 210 and MTH 211), take SPH  231 or  SPH 240.

GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY : Take MTH 131 (or higher mathematics course excluding MTH 210 and MTH 211) and complete MACRAO taking either ANT 131 or GEO 132 and either SOC 235 or SOC 251 (Social Science),

SPRING ARBOR UNIVERSITY: Complete The MACRAO Agreement prior to transferring to SAU.   

WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY: For students entering Haworth College of Business, College of Education, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, College of Fine Arts, and College of Health and Human Service, take  MTH 210  or  MTH 133 or  MTH 140 or MTH 145 or MTH 151.  For students entering College of Arts and Sciences, take MTH 210  or  MTH 133 or  MTH 140 or  MTH 145 or MTH 151,  take HIS 231 or  HIS 232 or  PLS 141 or  SOC 235, take two semesters of a foreign language or  have taken two years of high school foreign language with a grade of  “B” or better in the final semester.
