 Information specific to Teacher Education

There are two basic Teacher Education (TE) levels – elementary and secondary.

  • All Teacher Education programs are five (5) years.

·         First four (4) years focus on academic discipline course work, plus Teacher Education course work.  Focus of education is on academic discipline no matter what level of teaching.

·         Fifth year is graduate education courses and a full-time, nine-month internship.  Some credits from graduate-level professional study during internship may be applied to a master’s degree program.
