Transfer students are strongly urged to periodically contact the College of Health and Human Services advisor for programmatic updates.  Students who wish to major in social work will be admitted to the pre-social work curriculum at the time of admission to the university. This status, however, does not guarantee admission to the professional social work curriculum. Upon completion of 45 credit hours of college coursework and the course SWRK 210: Social Work Services and Professional Roles, students may submit an application for admission to the School of Social Work. Application deadlines are January 15, May 15, and October 1 of each year.

A total of 122 credits is required for completion of the degree. A maximum of 62 credit hours required for completion of the degree at Western Michigan University may be transferred from JCC.

This is only a guide. Please refer to the Western Michigan University catalog for transfer admission requirements, specific course information, program requirements, etc. For further information and advising, please contact Western Michigan University, Admissions Office, (269) 387-2000.
