Center for Student Success Basic Skills Review and Test Preparation coursesThis course provides an excellent review for students preparing for placement tests, or those who have been out of school for several years. Students who plan to take the course placement tests may want to review before they take the tests. Those who re-take placement tests may also benefit from review. Some specialized trades require basic skills tests. For example, a student may prepare for a math test before acceptance into an apprenticeship. The “non-traditional” student may have been away from school for many years. This student may review a subject area before enrolling in a course. The computer-assisted program is designed for adult learners. It is self-paced and flexible, allowing students to study whenever it suits their schedules. The instruction is individualized, guiding students to work only on areas that they need to study. An instructor is available to guide the student and offer study aids.
