- Casey Fitzgibbons graduated from JCC in December 2002 with her Associate Degree in Nursing. Prior to that, she attended Spring Arbor University and graduated from Ross Medical Center with a medical assistant degree. She is a 1995 graduate of Western High School.
- Casey began working at the University of Michigan Medical Center in 1997 where she started as a medical assistant in the outpatient clinics. In 1999 she went to work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as a surgical tech. After graduating from JCC Casey became a registered nurse in that same unit, which is also known as Holden. In the NICU she takes care of very sick babies and preemies. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a family take home their infant. She truly feels like she has one of the best jobs in the world!
- Casey has been married to her husband, Jason, for 12 years. They have two beautiful daughters, Julie, 7, and Katie, 6. The girls attend St. Johns Elementary in Jackson, and both love to play soccer and have currently started taking Tae Kwon Do at the YMCA.
- In her spare time, Casey and her husband have become marathon runners. They ran their first half marathon this last April 2010 followed by their first full marathon in October in Detroit. In January they ran the Goofy Challenge at Walt Disney World theme parks, where they ran a half marathon one day and a full marathon the next. It was an awesome experience that they shared with two of their friends. Casey and Jason currently have many runs planned for the next year including running at Disneyland in the fall. They believe running is a great way to clear your mind and stay healthy.
“A marathon begins with a single step… A lifestyle change begins with a vision and a single step.”
