Home / Campus News / College presents 3 ensembles, 1 exciting evening! Oct. 28 Fall Concert
Get ready for an evening of music and rhythm as Jackson College showcases three musical ensembles in a Fall Concert Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Harold Sheffer Music Hall, Potter Center.
Timeless classics, seasonal favorites, soaring motives, lush chordal passages and rhythmic intensity will engage your senses as the Jackson College Community Concert Band, Jazzy Jets and Drumline perform. All three JC ensembles have made great strides in pieces like Modeste Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition,” Julie Giroux’s “Bookmarks from Japan,” Stevie Wonder’s “Master Blaster,” big band favorites by the Glenn Miller Band, and even highlights from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
The Jackson College Drumline will also provide a preview for the upcoming Jackson Percussion Concussion on Nov. 6, which will feature a record-breaking 15 drumlines! Enjoy all this on a 79-minute musical journey.
Jackson College musical ensembles are comprised of both college students and community members. Director of Instrumental Activities and Music Professor Dan Bickel directs the Concert Band and Jazzy Jets, while Instructor Benjamin Crockett directs the JC Drumline.
Mark your calendar for this exciting musical event! Admission is free, and all are welcome.
