New Dental Hygiene Clinic to open to public in January

Community members may soon utilize Jackson College’s new Dental Hygiene Clinic, which offers dental hygiene services while helping students gain experience.
The Dental Hygiene Clinic will open for the community on Jan. 28, 2019. The clinic allows dental hygiene students to complete practice hours required as part of their studies. Students will work under the direct supervision of licensed dental hygiene instructors and dentists as they offer the following preventive services:
- Dental Cleanings
- Fluoride Treatments
- Oral Cancer Screening
- Blood Pressure Screening
- Oral Health Instruction
- Nutritional Advising
Appointments will be available Monday afternoons starting at 1:30 p.m., or Wednesday mornings starting at 8:30 a.m. Working with students who are under supervision, please expect your appointment to be between 2 to 3.5 hours long. Cleanings will include oral exam, necessary x-rays, cleaning and fluoride treatment, and will cost $30 for adults, $25 for senior citizens and children under 18.
