The Theatre Department’s fall production of Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, performed November 20-22, 2025, brought Christopher Durang’s sharp, funny family comedy to the JC stage. Set in a quiet farmhouse, the play follows three siblings whose weekend is upended when their movie-star sister suddenly arrives—with her much younger boyfriend in tow.
The cast fully embraced the mix of absurd humor and honest emotion, delivering performances that kept the audience laughing while still hitting the heartfelt moments. With great ensemble chemistry, thoughtful direction, and a strong backstage crew, this production made for a lively and memorable weekend of theatre.
