Meet Nicole. When Nicole Cossum-Ready, of Hillsdale, enrolled at Jackson College, it was her second college experience.
Coming back as a non-traditional student, she admits her first brush with college was nothing to brag about. Jackson College didn’t hold her past against her. Cossum-Ready’s academic achievements and desire to succeed have guided her experience.
She found her niche in business administration and graduated with two degrees and three certificates – Associate in Arts, Associate in Applied Science Business Administration, Certificate in Business Administration, Certificate in General Education and Certificate – General Transfer. She graduated in 2016, but continues to take classes and remains active with Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society
Consequently, she was accepted for transfer to eight universities. Under the guidance of Martha Petry, Phi Theta Kappa advisor, she filled out many scholarships and decided on Pennsylvania State University. She will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in strategic communications: public relations in 2018.
Her experience has exceeded her expectations, and she thanks Jackson College. “The experience that students receive at Jackson College is priceless. It is much more than pay for classes and get grades. The instructors are engaging, motivating and are passionate about their subjects.”
“I really thought I was going to get a two-year degree and fly under the radar. The faculty and staff at Jackson College encouraged me to dream bigger and fly higher. Jackson College opened doors for me that I believed had slammed shut years ago.”
