October 28, 2021

Celebrate a fall concert from the Jackson Community Concert Band with a program of “Marvel and Marches,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7 in the Harold Sheffer Music Hall, Potter Center.

The band will present an afternoon of Marvel and Marches – music to celebrate heroes, real and imagined. Music will include the “King Karl King March,” “Songs of the Great War,” “Absolutely Sousa” as well as a “Super-Hero Medley” with themes from Marvel Studios, “Superman,” “Captain America March,” and “The Avengers,” and “Music from ‘The Incredibles.’”

The JC Drumline will make a guest appearance during the concert’s intermission, a preview to the Nov. 18 “Jackson Percussion Concussion” which will feature many area drumlines and the Detroit Lions Drumline. The JC Drumline instructor is a recent MSU grad and Spartan Drumline alumnus, Jackson’s own Jack Tallman. The Detroit Lions leader is former Detroit Pistons Drumline leader Todd Ohme, also an MSU alumnus.

The Community Concert Band performance is free, and the community is welcome. All guests will go through the College’s COVID-19 checkpoint, and masks are required; click here for more information.

Jackson Community Concert Band is comprised of both college students and community members, under the leadership of director Dan Bickel. Learn more about the band here.
