Make a holiday feast to delight at December cooking class

Make your holiday a delicious success with the help of a Holiday Dinner cooking class offered by Jackson College’s own Chef David Hooper! Class will meet Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, from 5-9 p.m. at the Jackson Area Career Center.

During this class, Chef Hooper will guide students through a hands-on demonstration on how to cook a turkey and all the favorites, including stuffing, redskin mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce. Learn tips on roasting, mixing, making stock and baking. Students will take home their holiday feast, including a pumpkin pie prepared in advance by the chef.

Chef David Hooper brings more than 30 years’ experience in the food service industry and 10 years as an educator. After graduating from Schoolcraft College of Livonia, Michigan, he owned and operated Catering by Hooper, worked in hotels, bakeshops, high volume establishments, and country clubs. Additionally, Chef Hooper has an earned Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and is a Certified Executive Chef (CEC) and a Certified Culinary Administrator (CCA) through the American Culinary Federation. Currently, Chef Hooper oversees the Jackson College culinary program.
