$500,000 in training funds available for area businesses
April 10, 2019
Jackson College (JC) has $500,000 available to local companies for training assistance through the Michigan New Jobs Training Program (MNJTP).
This program is available to Michigan employers creating new jobs in this state that are:
- direct-hire, full-time, and in a new, existing or expanding business of the employer;
- not jobs of recalled workers, temporary or seasonal jobs, replacement jobs, or any other job that existed in the employer’s business within one year preceding the date of an agreement;
- new jobs that pay at least 175 percent of the minimum wage;
- new jobs that result in a net increase in employment in this state for the employer.
MNJTP is not designed to help companies fill openings for existing jobs or to provide on-the-job training for current employees. Instead, it supports training for new positions in your company. For a company that is expanding and needs to hire and train new positions, the Michigan New Jobs Training Program may be able to help. Funding awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.
