National Apprenticeships Week update from Jackson College!

March 24, 2025

Jackson College invites students, employers, and community members to attend a special informational session during National Apprenticeship Week. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 30, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Central Campus.

This session offers a comprehensive overview of Jackson College’s apprenticeship programs, highlighting the curriculum, student services, and funding opportunities available for both students and employers. Students will learn how apprenticeships can jumpstart their careers, while employers will discover valuable funding opportunities and training resources. College employees are also encouraged to attend to gain a deeper understanding of how apprenticeships align with student success initiatives.

“This event is designed to educate and engage anyone interested in learning more about apprenticeships — what they are, how to get involved, and how they can be leveraged in ways they may not have considered before. Our goal is to open doors, spark new ideas, and strengthen the partnerships that make these opportunities possible,” said Jennifer Dobbs, apprenticeship services coordinator for Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE).

National Apprenticeship Week is a nationwide celebration where ApprenticeshipUSA partners showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship for strengthening our economy through workforce development. Jackson College continues to develop new and innovative programs to meet workforce needs.

“The opportunity we have at Jackson College — through our apprenticeship programs, services, academic offerings, and custom training — to help both employers and students meet the evolving needs of the workforce, while empowering individuals to grow, learn, and achieve their career goals, is at the heart of what we do. We are committed to supporting both students and employers as they drive the success of our region’s economy and contribute to a thriving community. Michigan is proud to be one of the leading states in apprenticeship growth, and we look forward to continuing to contribute to that momentum through our programs and partnerships,” Dobbs said.
