Jackson College welcomes Travis Wobrock in his first season as coach of the Jets volleyball program.
Wobrock comes from Onsted where he served as the head coach for junior varsity and was the varsity assistant coach. Prior to that, he spent one year as varsity coach at Addison High School. Wobrock has coached club volleyball at Tru Sports Volleyball Academy, Premier Academy and Glass City Volleyball.
“This is a program that has great potential and I can’t wait to build a program here. Having the opportunity to invest in a program so close to home is an honor to me,” Wobrock said.
A former defensive specialist and libero from Adrian College, he will specialize with his backcourt. Wobrock was a part of the Adrian College men’s volleyball program for three years. During his time at Adrian, he helped guide the Bulldogs to an eighth, ninth, and 13th place finish in the NCVF National Tournament. He was also named the team MVP after the 2014 season.
Wobrock graduated from Adrian College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education and health education. He is currently earning his master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration at the University of Concordia Irvine.
He currently resides in Onsted and is the graduation coach at Onsted High School.
