Wizards of Winter bring holiday rock to Potter Center

November 6, 2018

Get your holiday season rocking when the Wizards of Winter perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at Jackson College’s Potter Center.

Holiday rock ensemble the Wizards of Winter – featuring former members of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Rainbow, Blue Oyster Cult, Ted Nugent and The Irish Tenors – are touring throughout the U.S. for the holiday season through November and December.

The group first formed in 2009 as a way to give back to their local community by presenting a holiday concert to support a local food pantry. What was once simply a group of friends looking to help others in need has now turned into a musical force that crosses the nation each year. The Wizards of Winter evokes the spirit of the holiday with each performance, weaving a story based on their full-length album, “The Magic of Winter,” and new music. Each performance highlights soaring vocal harmonies, precision string instrumentation, outstanding guitar leads, powerful percussion and stunning keyboard work – taking the listener on a musical “sleigh ride.”

Wizards Of Winter founder and keyboardist Scott Kelly says, “We are looking forward to bringing the spirit of Christmas across the nation again this year. We have such an exciting lineup and we can’t wait to get out there and share the magic with friends, both old and new!”

The group is thrilled to announce the addition of several talented new members to their ensemble. The ensemble is pleased to welcome drummer and former Trans-Siberian Orchestra member John O. Reilly, baritone/tenor lead vocalist Karl Scully, lead vocalist/auxiliary keyboardist Rebecca Graae and lead guitarist Chris Green.
