Credit by Examination

Jackson College allows students to earn college credit by demonstrating their knowledge and skills through a Credit by Examination process. This can include written exams, oral exams, portfolio reviews, lab projects, computer programs, or timed writings, depending on the course.

Credit by Examination is granted for courses at Jackson College and may not transfer to other colleges or universities.

Important Information:

  • You are allowed one attempt per course.
  • Credit by cxamination cannot be used to repeat a course.
  • A grade of 2.0 or higher is required to earn credit, and any associated fees must be paid before credits are posted to your transcript.
  • Credits earned through this process will appear as “CR/EX” on your transcript, not as a letter grade.
