If you’ve gained skills through your career, you may be eligible to receive credit toward your degree or certificate. To be eligible for Credit for Prior Learning (CPL), prospective students must first apply to Jackson College and receive a student ID number. Credit for prior learning cannot be awarded until these steps are completed. Next steps Ready to get started? Below are the steps you should take to apply for credit based on your prior learning. Step 1: Determine if You Qualify Consider your prior learning or experience. Do you believe you have a strong understanding of a subject that might qualify for college credit? Step 2: Compile Your Materials Gather all supporting documentation that demonstrates your experience. This could include transcripts of relevant trainings, your resume, letters from employers detailing your responsibilities or or any other supporting documentation. Step 3: Send Your Submission Email your compiled materials to jcregistrar@jccmi.edu. Once received, your submission will be internally evaluated, and you’ll receive information about the next steps in the process.
