The debate between the Beatles and the Rolling Stones has continued ever since the two bands first crossed paths on the charts more than 60 years ago. Now, fans can watch the legendary British bands go head-to-head on stage when Beatles vs. Stones – A Musical Showdown comes to the Potter Center at Jackson College on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m.

The production features tribute bands Abbey Road and Satisfaction – The International Rolling Stones Show, bringing the music, style and energy of two of rock ‘n’ roll’s most influential bands to the stage.

Representing the Fab Four is Abbey Road, a Beatles tribute band known for its musicianship, authentic costumes and gear, and performances spanning the Beatles’ career. Facing them is Satisfaction, which recreates the music and style of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and the Rolling Stones.

The concept grew from a simple question: What would it have been like to see the Beatles and Rolling Stones perform on the same bill?

“Music fans never had a chance to see the Beatles and the Rolling Stones perform on the same marquee,” said Chris LeGrand, who portrays Mick Jagger in the production. “Now, music aficionados can watch this debate play out live on stage.”

The Jackson performance is part of a 125-stop tour through the United States, Australia and Canada. The production has been touring since 2011 and features popular songs from both bands, spanning their musical careers. Satisfaction’s set typically includes Rolling Stones songs through the 1980s.

During the two-hour show, the bands perform two sets each, trading places through quick set changes before coming together for an all-out encore. The performers wear custom-made costumes inspired by the clothing worn by the Beatles and Rolling Stones during different periods of their careers. The show also features plenty of good-natured banter between the bands.

Beatles vs. Stones – A Musical Showdown comes to the Potter Center on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $25 and are available online at the Potter Center website, by phone at 517.796.8600 or at the Potter Center Box Office, open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The show is appropriate for all ages.
