LiveSafe App

LiveSafe is a mobile app that allows students, staff, and faculty to communicate directly with Jackson College Security. It uses GPS to share your location during emergencies or when submitting tips.

You can allow or block location sharing for any tip used within the app. If your location setting is disabled, your location and information will be shared with safety & security when you use the Emergency Options or Report Tips buttons within the app.

  • SafeWalk: Share your real-time location with friends/family as you walk. They can chat with you or call for help if needed.
  • Report Tips: Send anonymous tips (with optional photo/video/audio) about suspicious activity, mental health concerns, theft, etc.
  • Emergency Options: Call or text campus security with your name and location automatically included.
  • Safety Map: Locate nearby safe zones and get directions.
  • Location is only shared when using Emergency Options or Report Tips.
  • You can enable/disable location sharing for tips.
  • Emergency location sharing continues until you tap “stop.”

This information is kept strictly confidential; a third-party vendor, LiveSafe, Inc, manages the database.

  1. Visit the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and search for “LiveSafe.”
  2. Download the option with the blue shield.
  3. Use your Jackson College email to register and verify.
