Computer Purchase

Need a computer for your home? Full-time JC employees who have completed their probationary period, can purchase a computer for home use via payroll deduction. You can pay for your computer spread over 26 pays. New computers may be purchased every three (3) years. Contact Sandie Beagle for more information.

Free/Reduced Tuition

Don’t forget about the JC tuition waiver for when you, your spouse or dependents take JC classes. Full-time faculty, staff, and administration receive free tuition at JC. Part-time faculty, and staff accrue tuition credits. Contact Human Resources for more information.

Workout Facilities

On the  Central Campus, eligible employees can use the fitness center which is located in the Victor Cuiss Fieldhouse. Hours are available upon request. Lifetime Learning (LTL) Courses is excluded from tuition grants with the exception of one (1) LTL Health and Physical Fitness course per semester.

Health Clinic

Jackson College has partnered with Allegiance Health to offer JC students and employees medical care evaluation and treatment from the clinic’s caring staff. A licensed nurse practitioner and technical staff will be in the office to see patients, make diagnosis and assessment, prescribe medications or make referrals.

On-Site Day Care

ABC Academy operates a day care center on the campus of Jackson College. Priority for enrollment is given to students and then to JC employees before enrollment is opened to the public. Call 768-9323 for more information. JC students and employees receive a 5% discount.

Recycling

We’re committed to recycling! You can find plastic recycling stations at several key locations across Central Campus.

Staff Tuition Reimbursement Program

Eligible employees can receive tuition reimbursement for external coursework not offered at Jackson College. Contact Human Resources for details.

Hiring Process

  • Candidates submit an online application for a specific posted position.
  • Candidates receive an email confirming receipt of their application (check junk folder if not received).
  • The hiring manager and search committee review applications to ensure candidates meet the minimum qualifications stated in the job posting.
  • Candidates who do not meet the qualifications or have incomplete applications are notified via email that they are no longer under consideration.
  • If a candidate’s application moves forward, their listed references automatically receive an email requesting a reference.
  • Candidates should provide valid email addresses for their references and avoid listing their current supervisor/coworkers if they don’t want them contacted at this stage.
  • After the position posting closes, the hiring manager and search committee review the applications of qualified candidates.
  • They select candidates to be invited for interviews.
  • Candidates not selected for an interview are notified by email.
  • Candidates selected for interviews are contacted by email or phone to schedule.
  • Initial interviews may be conducted via telephone or Skype before on-campus interviews.
  • Following interviews, the search committee recommends their preferred candidate(s) to the relevant member of the Leadership Council. This member then meets with the recommended candidate(s) to determine if they will move forward to meet with the entire Leadership Council.
  • If the Leadership Council decides to move a candidate forward, a Human Resources representative contacts the candidate with a contingent job offer.
  • If the contingent offer is accepted, Human Resources conducts a thorough criminal background check.
  • Human Resources may also contact additional references, including the current or most recent employer/supervisor, if needed.
  • If the background and reference checks are acceptable, the candidate is notified and scheduled for New Employee Orientation.
  • Candidates who were interviewed but not selected for the position are notified by e-mail or telephone.
