JC, JAMA agreement to align workforce pathways

Jackson College and Jackson Area Manufacturers Association (JAMA) will formalize a new partnership with a signing ceremony on Friday, April 24, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the new Advanced Manufacturing Training Center, 3517 Scheele Drive, Jackson.

The new articulation agreement creates a direct pathway for individuals participating in JAMA’s advanced manufacturing programs to apply their skills and knowledge toward academic credit at Jackson College. The partnership strengthens the connection between hands-on training and higher education, helping students accelerate their career advancement in the manufacturing sector.

“JAMA is excited about the new articulation partnership with Jackson College that directly benefits our students and training participants,” said JAMA Executive Director/President Olivia Steele. “This partnership ensures that the skills and knowledge gained through JAMA’s workforce training programs are recognized and can be applied toward academic credit at Jackson College. By creating a clear pathway from hands-on training to higher education, JAMA is helping our students advance their careers, strengthen their skills, and better position themselves for success in the manufacturing workforce.”

“As Provost of Jackson College, I am proud to see this articulation agreement with JAMA move forward as an important investment in both our students and the future of Jackson County,” said Provost and Chief Academic officer for Jackson College, Dr. Benjamin Valdez. “This partnership creates meaningful educational pathways and helps us respond directly to our community’s workforce needs. At Jackson College, we are committed to preparing students for careers that matter and supporting local employers who depend on a strong, skilled workforce. Agreements like this show what we can achieve together and our shared responsibility to create opportunity, strengthen our economy, and serve the people of Jackson County.”

Community members, students and local industry partners are invited to attend the signing ceremony and learn more about how this collaboration will expand opportunities for workforce development and educational advancement in the region. There will be a brief ceremony with remarks, then an opportunity to walk through the new training facilities.
