Register for Classes

New to Jackson College? If you haven’t completed the admissions process yet, follow the instructions on how to apply.

  • High school students who wish to dual enroll, must complete the Dual Enrollment Form.
  • Guest students need to complete the Guest Student Process.
  • Returning students who have attended JC in the last two years and are in good standing with Financial Aid and the Business Office are eligible for registration.

Register for classes online

Jackson College uses JetStream for course registration and academic planning. This user-friendly system allows students to explore course options, plan their schedules, and track their progress toward graduation. To ensure success, all students are required to meet with their student success navigator each semester before registering for classes. Navigators provide guidance on course selection, long-term planning, and academic goals, helping students stay on track.

Add a Course to JetStream for Approval

  1. Log in to JetStream using your Jackson College e-mail address
  2. Click Student Planning
  3. Click Go to Plan & Schedule
  4. Type in your course in the Search for courses… bar and hit Enter
  5. Click Add Course to Plan
  6. Pick your term under Select a Term….
  7. Click Add Course to Plan
  8. Repeat for other courses
  9. Once done, Click Plan & Schedule
  10. Go to the Advising tab
  11. Click Request Review. This will send an e-mail to your Navigator to have them check the course and approve the course. Your Navigator will e-mail or call you when they have reviewed it.
  12. You will then go back and search for sections for the courses.

Add a section to an approved course and finalize registration

  1. Log into JetStream
  2. Log in using your Jackson College e-mail address
  3. Click Student Planning
  4. Click Go to Plan & Schedule
  5. Use the arrows to move between the semester that you are looking for
  6. Click View Other Sections under the class you want to schedule
    • This will add all sections at all campuses to the schedule
    • You can “Filter Sections” by Availability, Location, Day of Week, Time of Day, and Instructor.
  7. When you find the class that you want, you will click that section
  8. Click Add Section. This will add the section in Yellow on your calendar. Repeat steps 6-8 for all other classes
  9. When done, click Register Now when registration opens up. It will turn Green when it is registered
  10. Note: Classes will be outlined in red if they conflict with another class on your schedule.

Course Waitlist Process

Waitlisting allows you to “wait in line” for an open seat in a full class. As soon as a spot becomes available, you’ll receive an email to your JC Student Email with your “Permission to Register” status. This eliminates the need to check constantly for available spots.

How to Add Yourself to a Waitlist

Log into JetStream, go to ‘Plan & Schedule,’ and click ‘Waitlist’ next to the course you’d like to join.

Managing Your Waitlist

To manage your waitlist, go to ‘Plan & Schedule’ under ‘Student Planning.’ You can remove yourself from the waitlist anytime by clicking ‘Drop waitlist.’

Registering from the Waitlist

If a seat becomes available, you’ll receive an email in your JC Student Email. You have 24 hours to register for the course via JetStream. If you don’t register within this time, the opportunity expires and you’ll need to join the waitlist again.

Important Notes

Waitlisting doesn’t guarantee enrollment.

Ensure your JC Student Email inbox is not full to receive waitlist notifications.

If you’re on multiple waitlists for the same course, you’ll be removed from other lists once you register.

If your schedule changes after you’ve been granted permission to register, you may not be able to enroll due to time conflicts or overloads.
