Summer Concert Series returns with music indoors & out!

Soak up the sounds of summer with Jackson College’s annual Summer Concert Series! From lively outdoor performances on the Potter Center back patio to indoor concerts in the Harold Sheffer Music Hall, there’s something for every music lover to enjoy.

This year’s lineup includes:

  • Big L and Code Blü – 7 p.m., May 28, back patio
    Enjoy an evening with Jackson native Larry Sumner Jr. and his band as they bring a mix of crowd favorites and original music to the stage.
  • Jackson French Quarter Traditional Jazz Band – 7 p.m., June 3, back patio
    Experience the sounds of New Orleans with this energetic jazz ensemble, performing beloved classics like “When the Saints Go Marching In.”
  • Capital City Brass Band – 7 p.m., June 11, back patio
    This award-winning group, featuring musicians from across the region, delivers an entertaining blend of brass band repertoire, jazz, and popular selections.
  • Jackson College Community Concert Band – 7 p.m., June 16, Harold Sheffer Music Hall
    Featuring talented performers from both the college and the community, this concert offers a diverse program of timeless and contemporary favorites.
  • 42nd Annual Trombonefest – 7 p.m., June 21, back patio
    Mark Father’s Day weekend with this unique musical tradition, showcasing nearly 30 trombones backed by a lively rhythm section.
  • Summer Band Camp Finale – 11:55 a.m., July 2, Robert Snyder Dining Commons, Potter Center
    Support the next generation of musicians as band camp participants present what they’ve learned. Campers will also march in the Brooklyn July 4 Parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 4.

All concerts are free and open to the public. Limited seating is available; guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for outdoor events. In the event of inclement weather, performances will move indoors.
