Home / Campus News / Swing into Spring with instrumental ensembles
Enjoy a musical journey as Jackson College’s Jazzy Jets, Drumline, and Community Concert Band unite for a spring concert on April 14 at 7 p.m. in the Potter Center.
This upbeat collaboration promises a lively and diverse program designed to “put a spring in your step,” featuring music from New Orleans jazz, 1930s standards, Latin American dance styles, concert band classics, movie music, and opera staples made famous by Bugs Bunny cartoons, along with a generous dose of Stevie Wonder.
“This concert showcases a wide range of musical styles,” Bickel said. “It’s a celebration of music as something that brings people together.”
Jackson College’s musical ensembles are unique in that they bring together college students and community members, creating an inclusive and dynamic performance experience. The Concert Band and Jazzy Jets are directed by Dan Bickel, Director of Instrumental Activities and Music Professor at Jackson College, while the JC Drumline is directed by Instructor Benjamin Crockett.
The concert is free and open to the public.
