George E. Potter Outstanding Student Award

The George E. Potter Outstanding Student Award is presented annually to one exceptional student at Jackson College. The recipient will receive a $1,000 JC Scholarship or a cash award, their choice. The student is selected based on the following criteria:

  • Personal Qualities: Positive attitude, pride in the school, exemplifies the mission values and beliefs of the college
  • Performance: Minimum 3.0 GPA and 30 credit hours, college involvement with positive impact, community involvement with positive impact
  • Leadership: Leadership in the college or the community

Outstanding Student Nomination Form

Nomination Criteria

Any full-time Jackson College student meeting the criteria is eligible for nomination. Nominations can be made by any JC employee, student, or board member and must address the specified criteria with detailed reasons for the nomination. The selection committee values the quality of nominations over quantity.
