Orientation at Jackson College

Get a great start at Jackson College by attending a new student orientations Orientation is required for all new students prior to registering for classes. During orientation, you will meet with a student success navigator, register for your classes, and talk with staff about your financial aid.  We want your transition to college to go as smoothly as possible; orientation will make that possible.

The first fall orientation will be Friday, April 8, at 9 a.m. Central Campus will host orientations every Wednesday with rotating times of 9 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. respectively. Orientations are also offered at the LeTarte Center Hillsdale, Jackson College @ LISD TECH and the W.J. Maher (North) Campus. To view the dates and times of our open fall orientations, please visit apply.jccmi.edu. If you find that the opened sessions will not work with your schedule, we will open more sessions. Orientations will run throughout the spring and summer until the start of the fall semester.

Course Placement Requirements

To register for New Student Orientation, you must have the course placement requirement satisfied. Course placement requirements can be satisfied by one of the following:

  • ACT/SAT scores taken within the last three years.
    • Scores that are within the following range are considered college-level ready:
      • Math 22+
      • Reading 18+
      • English 18+

Classes for fall will begin on Sept. 6, 2016. Please don’t wait until the last minute to register classes will fill up quickly!
