Student Refunds

Jackson College partners with BankMobile Disbursements, a technology solution powered by BMTX, Inc., to deliver student refunds.

Refunds may include: financial aid refunds, overpayments, dropped class refunds, other credits that result in an eligible credit balance on your student account.

When you’re eligible for a refund, BankMobile will email you instructions for choosing a refund preference. You’ll need a mobile phone number for verification. Selecting your refund preference as soon as possible will help prevent delays when a refund becomes available.

Make sure your mailing address, email address, and mobile phone number are current with Jackson College. This ensures you receive important information about your refund.

BankMobile will send you a personal code by email and by mail in a bright green envelope. You’ll need this code to select your refund preference.

Go to RefundSelection.com and enter your personal code to select your refund preference. You can choose:

  • Deposit to an existing bank account — Have your refund electronically deposited into your personal checking or savings account.
  • BankMobile Vibe Checking Account — Open a BankMobile Vibe Checking Account and have your refund deposited into that account. If you choose this option you’ll receive a temporary virtual debit card while you wait for your physical card to arrive.

Important Information

When Will I Receive My Refund?

Financial aid disbursement and receiving a refund are not the same thing.

Financial aid is first disbursed to your Jackson College student account and applied toward eligible tuition, fees, and other charges. If your financial aid exceeds the amount you owe Jackson College, the remaining credit balance may be issued to you as a refund.

Financial aid generally begins disbursing after the census date, which is approximately eight days after the start of the semester. Your individual disbursement date may vary depending on your enrollment, course start dates, financial aid eligibility, and completion of any outstanding financial aid requirements.

Once your financial aid has been applied:

  1. Financial aid is applied to your student account.
  2. Jackson College reviews your account for an eligible credit balance.
  3. An eligible refund is sent to BankMobile Disbursements.
  4. BankMobile delivers the refund according to the refund preference you selected.

Seeing financial aid on your student account does not necessarily mean your refund has been sent to BankMobile yet.

Courses That Start Later

If you are enrolled in courses that begin later in the semester, some of your financial aid may not be eligible to disburse until those courses begin. This may affect the amount and timing of your refund.

Changes to your enrollment may also affect your financial aid eligibility and could change the amount of your refund.

Avoid Refund Delays

To help ensure you receive your refund as quickly as possible:

  • Keep your contact information current with Jackson College.
  • Watch your Jackson College email for important financial aid and refund notifications.
  • Complete all outstanding financial aid requirements.
  • Select your BankMobile refund preference as soon as you receive instructions.
  • Make sure your banking information is accurate if you select deposit to an existing bank account.
  • Remember that changes to your enrollment may affect your financial aid and refund.

FAQ’s

Where is my refund?

How do I choose my refund preference?

You will receive email communication and will visit RefundSelection.com, where you will verify your information to create your profile and complete refund preference selection.

I chose ACH for my refund; can I change that?

Yes, you can. You will want to log in at RefundSelection.com and change your refund preference. Students can change their preference at any time and as many times as they would like. Preference changes only impact future refunds.

I don’t want to choose a preference; do I have to?

To receive a refund from the school as quickly as possible, a student should go online to choose a refund preference to receive their refund.

Does BM Technologies, Inc. sell my information?

No, BM Technologies does not sell or give out student information.

I am getting stuck on the RefundSelection.com homepage where I verify my information.

Please contact your school to make sure they have your current details on file. If there’s a mistake, they will need to provide BM Technologies with a new demographic file with your record updated. Confirm with your school when that file will be sent — updates typically reach us within 24 to 72 hours, and may take longer on weekends.
