Theme: Faculty Exploring New Ideas: Innovation, AI, and Assessment in Practice

This showcase highlights faculty who are exploring new ideas in their classrooms and disciplines through innovation, AI and assessment. Presenters will share case studies featuring what they implemented, lessons learned, challenges encountered, and opportunities they are excited to pursue next. Join the conversation as colleagues exchange ideas, discuss emerging practices, and reflect on how experimentation can shape the future of teaching and learning.

• 10 a.m. – 10:50 a.m.: Managing Stress and Holistic Health, Payge Hodapp
  Payge will share innovative approaches to holistic health and stress management, discussing new ideas she has explored, lessons learned, and future opportunities to support student wellness.
• 11 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.: Entrepreneurship and Personal Finance, Ron Betzig
  Ron will discuss AI and new approaches to teaching entrepreneurship and personal finance, highlighting feedback, student engagement, and ideas for future innovation.
• 12 – 12:50 p.m.: ENG 132: AI, Ethics, Integrity, and Feedback, Geri Jacobs Explore how ENG 132 is integrating AI into college writing through discussions of ethics, academic integrity, and meaningful feedback. She will share classroom experiences, lessons learned, and innovative approaches that encourage students to think critically about writing and responsible AI use.
• 1 – 1:50 p.m.: TEDxJackson College Videos
  View TEDxJackson College presentations that highlight innovative ideas, personal stories, and creative approaches to solving real-world challenges.
• 2 – 2:50 p.m.: Chemistry, John Ireland
  John will present examples of innovation in chemistry education, including experimentation with instructional strategies, assessment approaches, and emerging technologies that support student learning.

Drop-in space is available for other faculty who would like to share. Open to all employees, faculty, staff and administration.
